ILAE is pleased to announce the availability of its Centenary Book.  This lavish production (about 330 pages and 100 historical illustrations) has much unpublished material.  The volume is being printed as a limited edition and included with each copy is a bookplate with the copy number and a space for you to add your name. The book is intended to reflect the quality of the ILAE and to serve the organization.  We hope it will grace your collection.

Founded on August 30, 1909 in Budapest, the International League Against Epilepsy is the earliest neurological society still in existence. From humble beginnings it now approaches its centenary boasting over 16,000 members in nearly 100 countries. These committed individuals continue assiduously to pursue the League's objective: to improve the care, treatment and social standing of people with epilepsy.

To mark the centenary in 2009, the League has produced this presentation volume of its history. Diligently researched, this book uses personal testimonials, published reports, the ILAE archives and research developments to provide a unique and detailed social and scientific history.  The volume includes the history of: the ILAE; the journal, Epilepsia; epilepsy; and epilepsy treatment. Much of the material has come from private sources and archives and has never before been published.

Those who have preordered copies will be invoiced in May and should receive their copies within six weeks of payment (dependent on local mail systems).  The preorder discount expires on 5 July 2009.  As of 6 July, the price of the book is $120US plus shipping.  To order a copy of the book or to pay for your preordered copy use the link below.
