Summary statement:
The Cuban League against Epilepsy has kept a consistent work in
Cuba and has intensified its work in collaboration with countries
of Latin American Area.
The Epilepsy section continue being published in the "Revista
del Hospital Psiquiátrico de la Habana".
Eight original articles were published about Epilepsy from members
of our group in magazine "Neurología"
In another magazine "16 de Abril" was published an article
addressed to medical students.
During the last trimester of the year we worked in a course on
Epilepsy addressed to Latin America through Internet.
Discussions with some others professionals from the area are encourage
through the "Listas de discusión".
Different topics were written in several web pages about Epilepsy,
like "Epilepsy and Society" and "Living with Epilepsy".
Of great importance for our League was the participation in the
XXIII Epilepsy International Congress - Praga, sep.1999, the Cuban
League against Epilepsy was represented by three members, taking
part in five posters and Simposium. During the same year developing
six different lines of research about epilepsy.
