Journal
MEL is co-owner of the only Hungarian Journal for Neurology "Clinical Neuroscience / Ideggyógyászati Szemle". Prof. Péter Rajna is at present the Editor-in-Chief. Full-length papers in the field of epileptology and related fields can be published in this bimonthly journal. Also, it is a platform for dissemination of MEL news and affairs, postgradual education and so on.

Information materials were distributed countrywide as follows:
- A new book of Prof. Péter Halász (interesting epilepsy case reports which suggest multidi-mensionality of the disease and the need for comprehensive care)

- Video-EEG teaching material (Epileptic Seizures) by Dr. Béla Clemens (video casettes and CD for education at all levels (sponsored by a pharmaceutical firm).

- Booklets for patient education (Childhood epilepsy, Epilepsy and Pregnancy), and other sorts of patient education, mainly sponsored by pharmaceutical firms. EPILAP (edited by MESZ, that is the Hungarian Association of Epileptic Patients) is a monthly journal sponsored by firms.

Meetings in 1999:
- 4th Annual Meeting of the MEL at Héviz, Nov.1999.
- 16th Annual Postgradual Epilepsy Conference (including Basie Teaching Course) at Györ, Oct. 1999.

Activities in relation to Global Campaign:
Valentine Day, "4th Epilepsy Day" was organized in Budapest and at some other places in Hungary.

Other Activities
Members of the Hungarian epileptology community frequently join international epilepsy conferences and symposia. In order to do this, sponsorship of firms is necessary. Some authors present posters or lectures.
