Meetings and activities
The VIIth Annual Symposium of the Romanian Society against Epilepsy
was organized in Bucharest, Crown Plaza Hotel, Romania on May 28,
1999.
It was attended by the members of the Society (227) who participated
together with numerous neurologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons,
pediatricians and psychologists. Dr. Catherine Chiron, head of imagine
investigation department of the Institute Orsay, Paris, France attended
as a guest.
Topics of the Symposium:
- „Actualities in epilepsy diagnosis" e.g. diagnosis of occipital
epilepsy, diagnosis of epilepsy in elderly, differential diagnosis
between panic attack and epilepsy seizure, diagnosis of frontal
lobe epilepsy, SPECT and PET diagnosis in epilepsy, contribution
of EEG in diagnosis of epilepsy, genetic diagnosis in epilepsy,
contribution of CT and RMI at the epilepsy diagnosis, value of invasive
investigations for epilepsy diagnosis, etc.
The National Epilepsy Centre has established full activities.
The Romanian Society against Epilepsy organised in 1999 educational
courses in the management epilepsy for general practitioner, epiletologists
and neurologists.
