1st Annual Meeting of the Saudi Chapter of Epilepsy and Epilepsy
Workshop, 5-7 Oct. 1999.

The Annual Meeting of the Chapter in April 2000.
Summary statement:
The one-day 1st Annual Meeting was held on 5 October 1999 followed
by a 2-day Epilepsy Course in collaboration with the American University
of Beirut. Eminent faculty from the United States, Europe and Arab
countries contributed to this Meeting. The Epilepsy Course included
detailed sessions on semiology, antiepileptic drugs, Amobarbital
test, neuroimaging, and epilepsy surgery. The Meeting was attended
by 300 people from Saudi Arabia, neighboring Arab countries and
other countries.
During this activity, a Business
Meeting was held among the Presidents of the Epilepsy Chapters from
8 Arab countries, and they all agreed to establish a PanArab Epilepsy
Group. Dr. Saleh Al Deeb waas asked to represent this Group.
