All abstracts relating to childhood-onset disabilities are welcome, including those on prevention, at risk children, early detection, early intervention, transition and lifespan Issues, parents’ and siblings’ experiences, and adult research.

The committee has suggested an open list of topics for free communications including epidemiology, screening and evaluation tools, study designs, outcome measures, integration of research and clinical practice, and best practice protocols. The ICF model will be favored.

Suggested topics also comprise social inclusion and participation, quality of life, family-centred care, nutrition, fitness and wellness, leisure activities, ‘nothing about us without us’, socio-economic and socio-cultural factors, coping with disabilities in resource poor countries, neurogenetics, epigenetics, multiple disabilities, ethical issues, innovations in technology, robotics, orthotics, surgery, interdisiplinarity, alternative vs conventional traditional treatment approaches, education, service organisation.

And also: pain management, palliative care, mental health, sleep, epilepsy, motor control, hand function, mobility, gait, spasticity, dystonia, ataxia, bone health, feeding, intellectual disability, communication, vision, hearing.

A wide range of conditions will be of interest, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, Down syndrome, Tourette syndrome, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, tuberous sclerosis complex, Rett syndrome, mitochondrial diseases and other neurogenetic, neurometabolic and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
