The 8th BSSSE in Trakai, Lithuania, August 3 – 8, 2014 received quite unusually high marks from the 36 participants who came from 14 different countries. On a scale of 4 where they rated if the course met their expectations, only four participants gave the second highest rating, everyone else the highest of “expectations exceeded.” On a 5-scale rating if they gained new knowledge, one had gained much new knowledge, everybody else very much, nobody less. The most appreciated parts of the course were the case-oriented studies prepared by the faculty and the early morning seminars on EEG, semiology and pharmacotherapy, then the tutorials in interactive groups.

These results confirm once more the high appreciation the strongly interactive philosophy of these courses finds with the young postgraduates and Ph.D. students who typically attend. The next course (BSSSE 9) with a new programme will be held in Sigulda, Latvia, on August 2 – 7, 2015 and is open for application.
