Accolades to members of ILAE's Neuropsychology Task Force
30 March, 2021
Gus Baker, Sara Wilson, Bruce Hermann, and Mary Lou Smith have been recognized for notable achievements.
Prof Gus Baker has just been elected as Secretary of the IBE. This is the first time that a neuropsychologist has held this prestigious position and it is hoped that his appointment will serve to strengthen the ties between our two organisations.
Prof Sarah Wilson has just been appointed to the position of Pro-Vice Chancellor (Student Life) at the University of Melbourne. Again this is unprecedented and it is fantastic to have neuropsychology and epilepsy represented at such a high level at one of the world's leading universities.
In February 2021, Prof Bruce Hermann was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Neuropsychology by the International Neuropsychological Society in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field. This is the highest award conferred by the INS and Bruce is only the second person to have ever been honoured in this way by the society.
Prof Mary Lou Smith was awarded the 2020 Fritz E. Dreifuss Award by the American Epilepsy Society
All members of the task force are privileged to work with such esteemed colleagues and offer their sincere congratulations to Profs Baker, Wilson, Hermann, and Smith.
