Korean Epilepsy Society invites applications for international fellowship

The Korean Epilepsy Society (KES) has established an annual fellowship program for promotion of epileptology in the Asian-Oceanian countries. Two young doctors interested in epileptology will be invited every year to attend the KES annual meeting and to make a short visit, either before or after the meeting, to the selected hospital or epilepsy center in Korea.

Applicants must be 40 years old or younger on the first day of the KES meeting (June 15, 2018), trained and practicing in one of the Asian Oceanian countries, and must make a presentation in English at the KES meeting in Seoul, Korea, June 15 - 16, 2018. Fellowship awardees will receive the amount of 3,000,000 KRW (approximately 3,000 USD) by the KES, which covers international travel fee to and from Seoul, Korea, and expenses for staying and trips within Korea for up to 3 months.

How to apply:

Please submit a KES fellowship application form, a short curriculum vitae, a list of publication, a letter of recommendation and abstract for oral/poster presentation to Dr. Wonchul Shin, the Secretary General of KES at shin1chul@gmail.com and epilepsy@kes.or.kr. The abstract for presentation should be written in English. Describe the title, authors’ names, institutional affiliation, city, and country. Abstract structures are as follows: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions. The text must not exceed 300 words. Please send abstract, CV, and a list of publications as electronic files attached to an e-mail. The cover letter should include full mailing address, fax and telephone numbers, and e-mail address of the applicant. It is advised to indicate the area of interest in epilepsy (eg, pediatric epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, adult epilepsy, epilepsy research, etc); this information will be useful in order for international exchange committee to select institutions for a short visit. The applicant may specify medical institution(s) and/or physician(s) of interest.

Applications must be received no later than March 31, 2018.
