Reports about international conferences were delivered by mail to
every member of the chapter
Meetings:
Meeting of the chapter on April 9, 1999.
Participation with reports concerning epidemiology and life quality
issues of epilepsy in the Congress of Estonian Society of Neurologists
and Neurosurgeons on May 25-27.
The members of our chapter performed numerous teaching seminars
related to several aspects of epilepsy (courses for family physicians,
special seminars for treatment aspects etc.)
Activities in relation to the Global Campaign Against Epilepsy:
Spreading information about epilepsy among population and specific
knowledge for specialists working with people with epilepsy on specific
educational seminars or meetings of the patients' organizations.
Other activities:
Estonian League Against Epilepsy has been accepted as a full member
of ILAE.
Summary statement:
Estonian League Against Epilepsy with cooperation with Epilepsy
Society in Estonia develops better understanding of the problems
related to epilepsy. Also both organizations promote improving medical
services and support from social welfare for people with epilepsy.
