Ambassador for Epilepsy Award 2023

Alejandro de Marinis is a consultant adult neurologist at Los Andes University Hospital and former Head of the Epilepsy Program at German Hospital, Santiago Chile; he is also Head of the Epilepsy Clinic at the Chilean League Against Epilepsy. He is a member of the Board and Past President of the Chilean League Against Epilepsy and is a member of several ILAE Commissions and Task Forces since 2014 including the Budget Commission, Medical Therapies Commission, Epilepsy Guidelines Working Group, PNES Task Force and the Driving Task Force. Alejandro serves as a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Education and Service Development for People with Epilepsy at Santiago, Chile. Since 2022, he has been the National Coordinator of EURAP. His research interests are in PNES, epilepsy and pregnancy and epilepsy surgery with limited resources.
