Ambassador for Epilepsy Award 1999

P. Halasz (Hungary) is chair of the ILAE sub-commission on Eastern Europe for the Commission on European Affairs and a Vice-President of the European Academy of Epilepsy. He is active in the promotion of co-operation between a number of neighbouring countries. He is a patron of the IBE chapter in his country and assists them in joining the international stream by promoting international visits to lay associations in other countries. He is also the current president of the Hungarian chapter of ILAE and the founder of the Hungarian Co-operative Epilepsy Surgery Program as well as the author of the EEG atlas of adulthood epilepsy, which has been distributed to Eastern European and developing countries.
