Andreas Schulze-Bonhage

Andreas Schulze-Bonhage is Professor of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology and Head of the European Reference Epilepsy Center at the University of Freiburg, Germany. This center offers a large surgical program for children and adults as well as comprehensive epilepsy care for rare and complex epilepsies. He has served as ILAE delegate and president of the German Society of Epileptology, and is a member of the German Societies of Epileptology, Neurology, and Clinical Neurophysiology and of the American Epilepsy Society. His clinical research interests include advanced EEG diagnostics, long-term monitoring of epilepsy, neurophysiology of cognition, and emerging pharmacological, neuromodulatory and surgical therapies; this has resulted in > 490 peer-reviewed publications so far. He has been excited by many brilliant colleagues during multiple multinational scientific collaborations, and continues to learn about the very nature of epilepsy from my patients and from interactions with German, European and US patient representatives and organizations.
