Ambassador for Epilepsy Award 2023

Chahnez Charfi Triki is Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine (FMS) of the University of Sfax in Tunisia. She is head of the pediatric neurology department at the CHU Hédi Chaker in Sfax. She studied medicine at the FMS. Her interest in epileptology began during her UCL fellowship in Brussels. On her return to Tunisia, she joined the Tunisian Association Against Epilepsy. She created a professional master's degree in epileptology at the FMS in 2000, which became an online master's degree in 2005 allowing Tunisian and French-speaking African doctors to have training. Chahnez has participated with EUREPA in the training of trainers courses and organizes an epileptology course every year. With ILAE-Eastern Mediterranean, she set up the webinar training program in epilepsy, fellowships and regional epilepsy courses; its objectives are to improve knowledge on epilepsy, improve the situation of patients with epilepsy and develop epilepsy action plans in the region.
