Esper A. Cavalheiro (Brazil): Prof. Cavalheiro’s entire working life evolves around epilepsy. Apart from his regular position as a full professor of neurology and neurosurgery, Vice Dean for graduate students and co-ordinator of the post-graduation course in neurology and neuroscience, Prof. Cavalheiro is also a member of the ILAE Commission on Neurobiology of Epilepsy, a member of the editorial board of Epilepsia and Epilepsy Research and the President, founding member and driving force of the Brazilian Association of Epilepsy, the IBE chapter in Brazil.
