Ambassador for Epilepsy Award 2025

Keryma Acevedo

Dr. Keryma Acevedo is a pediatric neurologist, epileptologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Catholic University of Chile. She works in academia, clinical research, social issues and public policies in epilepsy.

She volunteers at the Chilean League Against Epilepsy, the Chilean IBE chapter. As President, she strengthened the growth of the institution, a non-profit organization with offices, workers and volunteers along the country, providing medical, educational and social services for PWE and their families. She boosted the use of new technologies generating national and international impact in the Latin American region.

Dr. Acevedo is the IBE Vice Chair of the Latin American Committee and member of the ILAE College of Translators. She is a recognized specialist and has collaborated with the Chilean Ministry of Health. Since January 2025, she is the Director of the Chilean League against Epilepsy-LICHE, PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center, delivering “Education and Services for people with epilepsy”, where she has been committed to disseminate the IGAP Plan.
