Nina Mago

Mago is a dynamic advocate, speaker, and leader in the global epilepsy movement. She is the founder of the Purple Bench Initiative, a transformative platform impacting communities through awareness, advocacy, and inclusion. A Rotarian with the Rotary Club of World Disability Advocacy, Nina has over a decade of experience in Sustainable Development and Global Exchange Programs.

Her expertise spans stigma reduction, epilepsy advocacy, and mental health, earning her speaking engagements at platforms like the WHO’s launch of the technical brief on improving lives for people with epilepsy. She has served as Lead on Diversity for the Africa Regional Committee and contributed to the Advocacy Committee. Certified in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Social Care, and Trauma Interventions, she is also a facilitator for the Epilepsy Assessment and Management Course. A fellow of the Professional Fellowship Program on Inclusive Civic Engagement and an alumna of the International Bureau for Epilepsy’s Global Youth Team, Nina drives impact across media, schools, hospitals, and refugee settlements, reshaping perceptions and policies around epilepsy.
