Ambassador for Epilepsy Award 1999

Shunsuke Ohtahara, Japan: For over 30 years he has dedicated his life to education related to childhood epilepsy. Internationally he has contributed to the development of childhood epileptology through publications and lectures and through his membership of various ILAE commissions. He has expanded his educational activities to Mongolia and China and is an active member of the Pacific Rim Group. His immense international contribution to the promotion of and a better understanding of epilepsy must be recognised by everyone involved in his field.
