Hemav Rajbhandari
Dr. Hemav Rajbhandari is a Neurosurgeon at Kathmandu Model Hospital, Nepal. He has served the Nepal Epilepsy Association (NEA) as President and currently, Treasurer. Under his leadership, NEA has provided services to over 50,000 people with epilepsy, primarily in rural Nepal.
He has served over 15,000 people with epilepsy, maintaining contact through in-person visits and electronic media. Under his leadership, NEA has provided services to over 50,000 people with epilepsy, primarily in rural Nepal.
Dr. Rajbhandari has led the pilot project "Comprehensive Epilepsy Health Service (2016–2018)" in Myagdi District, benefiting over 140 rural people with epilepsy.
He initiated the "Rural Epilepsy Workshop" in 2014 to improve epilepsy awareness among teachers, leaders, traditional healers, and shamans. In addition, epilepsy health screening camps were organised in neglected rural areas.
He has conceptualised and produced the docudrama "Juneli," a 43-minute film about epilepsy, recognised as one of the best training and awareness materials by the IBE.
