Dear Colleagues

It is our greatest pleasure to invite you to the 7th London-Innsbruck Colloquium on Status Epilepticus and Acute Seizures. This meeting has been held every two years since 2007 and has become a landmark meeting in the international epilepsy calendar. During this time there have been exciting advances in the field, with better mechanistic understanding and new treatments and clinical strategies, and we like to think that these were at least in part promoted by the Colloquia.

The venue of the Colloquium is the Francis Crick Institute, in the centre of London (adjacent to the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras Station). This biomedical discovery institute is devoted to understanding the fundamental biology underlying health and disease, in a spectacular new building opened in 2016, and is founded by the Medical Research Council (MRC), Cancer Research UK, Wellcome Trust, and three leading London university Colleges - UCL, Imperial College and King's College. It is dedicated to science and medicine and has superb conference facilities; and is thus a perfect venue for the Colloquium (see www.crick.ac.uk/about-us).

As in the previous Colloquia, we pay particular attention to making the meeting both interesting and enjoyable for our delegates. The faculty includes the leading figures in the field of Status Epilepticus and Acute Seizures from around the world. We are in the process of putting together an exciting and stimulating programme which should appeal to all those interested in the field, and is designed for both senior and junior clinicians and scientists and others. Not all is hard work, and we are also pleased, as in previous Colloquia, to offer a schedule of post-congress enteretainment to our delegates.

The congress hotels provide excellent value and are comfortable; and being in the heart of London, there is much on offer for you to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing and welcoming you to the Colloquium.

With warm regards,
Simon Shorvon, Eugen Trinka and Matthew Walker
(Co-organisers)
