Course Program

The Migrating Course on Epilepsy (MCE) is clinically oriented, targeted to specialists at the second and third level of epilepsy care, and focused on comprehensive aspects of diagnosis and treatment of children and adults with epilepsy. It also includes the basic sciences in clinical epileptology issues and the comorbidities of patients with epilepsy. The first Migrating Course was held in Serbia in 2007 and migrated to different countries afterward.

This course is organized in memory of late Prof. Nebojsa Jovic, past President of the Serbian League and one of the initiators of the MCE.

Target audience

The Migrating Course on Epilepsy is addressed to applicants providing care for patients with epilepsy and who wish to refine their skills in epileptology. Specialists in neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, pediatric neurology, pediatrics, clinical neurophysiology, and psychology are welcome to apply.

The course is limited to a maximum of 50 applicants to allow an optimal level of interaction with the faculty members. Applicants should submit abstract of their presentation, an updated CV and a recommendation letter signed by his-her head of department or head of research lab.

A limited number of bursaries have been approved. Successful applicants, with priority for age up to 45 years, will be duly advised.

Program

9th Migrating Course on Epilepsy venu

The faculty will consist of leading European epileptologists, including members of the Commission of European Affairs. The course is focused on comprehensive aspects of the treatment of epilepsy. Different issues of adult and pediatric epileptology will be covered. The faculty members give lectures on the clinically relevant aspects on epileptology and conduct interactive case discussions and/or tutorials on different topics. Didactic cases provided by tutors and case reports prepared by participants are planned to be discussed in small group of participants. Teaching methodology is based on interactive education.

Application

Application deadline is 20 August 2019. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 31 August 2019.

To apply, please send application form, attachments, and case reports to: 9thmce@gmail.com.

Registration fee: 500 EUR (for tween room) and 650 EUR (for single room). Except accommodation, it includes full board and access to all the educational activities (lectures, tutorials, case discussions, video-sessions). Fee does not include any travel expense and/or local transfers to reach the course venue. The payment of the registration fee will be required at a later stage to all admitted participants.
