EACCME accreditation for12 CME credits

The course speaker was Sándor Beniczky (Denmark) - with translation by Volodymyr Kharytonov (Ukraine). The course was accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide CME accreditation for healthcare professionals.

More than 130 participants from all over Ukraine, as well as Poland, Georgia and Armenia, gathered for the course. During the four theoretical and practical sessions, Sándor Beniczky systematically presented the basic aspects of the clinical EEG interpretation; and read EEGs with the participants in the interactive part of the sessions. Particular attention was paid to the new international guidelines on EEG electrode array and the new ILAE classification of seizures and of epilepsy. The course also addressed advanced aspects such as source imaging and status epilepticus.

Thanks to the charisma and professional awareness of Dr Beniczky and Dr Kharytonov, the event had a warm and friendly atmosphere, with discussions and an active exchange of thoughts and experiences among all the participants. We are very pleased that 85% of participants recognized the course as extremely useful for their professional development and practical use in their daily work. It should be noted course participants earned 12 European CME credits.

This is not the first event of the Ukrainian League Against Epilepsy aimed at exchanging experience with leading European specialists: in 2016-2017 courses were conducted on EEG in epileptology with the participation of Professor Walter van Emde Boas (Netherlands), Chair of the ILAE Taskforce on Distance Education.
