7 - 10 November 2024
Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery: From basics to advancements is a four-day residential course on pediatric epilepsy surgery, from the basics to advanced topics, using an interactive, case-based approach. The content covers concepts of pharmacoresistance, maturational aspects, special semiological attributes in children, basics of presurgical evaluation including Video-EEG interpretation, common surgical substrates in childhood, and the various surgical techniques. In addition, the learners will get introduced to advanced multimodal evaluation with newer structural and functional techniques along with invasive evaluation and SEEG. The course will utilize a standardized teaching module with didactic lectures and practical workshops in which illustrative cases will be reviewed by participants in small groups supervised by the faculty/tutor to gain hands-on experience in presurgical evaluation and surgical planning. Our faculty includes senior pediatric epileptologists and neurosurgeons from around the world.
The course is designed for neurologists (pediatric and adult), clinical neurophysiologists, and neurosurgeons who would like to learn the techniques of pediatric epilepsy surgery. It is limited to a maximum of 100 participants, so early booking is highly recommended. Preference will be given to early career neurologists and neurosurgeons from resource limited settings.
