Advancing excellence in epilepsy education across Europe
17 June 2026, 10:30 - 11:30 Coordinated Universal Time

As epilepsy care becomes increasingly concentrated within highly specialized centers, how can Europe continue to educate, train, and support the next generation of epilepsy specialists?
The first ILAE-Europe regional webinar was a huge success! There were 111 people from 49 countries across all 6 regions in attendance. With over 300 registrants, we look forward to sharing this valuable content with many more across the European region and indeed the world through the ILAE website and YouTube channel. Many thanks to the contributors for your outstanding efforts and to the audience for joining this event.
This ILAE Europe webinar brought together experts, educators, trainees, and European chapter representatives to discuss the future of epilepsy education across Europe. Topics included access to available educational resources through the ILAE Academy, EPICARE, VIREPA, and fellowships, the role of problem-based learning in epilepsy training, dissemination of ILAE educational materials, and whether current training models are meeting the growing need for epilepsy specialists.
The webinar also explored how national chapters can strengthen collaboration, improve access to educational opportunities, and enhance cross-border initiatives in epilepsy education.
