Summary of Activities:

Public outreach:
From february 1st to February 8th, 2018, sensitization campaigns were organized in many TV and Radio in Douala, economic capital of Cameroon. We had many interviews from Canal 2 International, Equinoxe TV and Radio, Cameroon Radio and Television, Penamundi FM. The message of the Cameroonian League was focused on the causes of epilepsy, sign and symptoms, fight against stigma and treatment modalities. The following days, our outpatients consultation were full of patients with epilepsy, few of them coming 600 km far from Douala after seing on TV that epilepsy can be treated.

Training 1:
A scientific conference was organised on February 8th, 2019 at The Conference hall of the Laquintinie Hospital Douala, chaired by the Director of the Hospital Pr Louis Richard NJOCK. Almost 189 practitionners attended the meeting (70% General Practitionners, medical students, neurologist, Internal Medicine specialist, etc). Many subject were of discussion like epilepsy definition, epidemiology in Cameroon, Videos of seizures, paraclinical investigations, treatment and new concepts in epilepsy. We had a great support from pharmaceutical industries like SANOFI and NOVARTIS.

Training 2 :
As part of our usual collaboration, the Ministry of Public Health has asked us to train the health staff of some health districts of the Center and Adamawa Regions of Cameroon. Members of the Cameroonian League successfully trained from May tu June 2018 more than one hundred health personnel on the diagnosis and care for people with epilepsy at Bafia, Ndikinimeki, Makenene, Ebebda, Monatele, Ntui, and Ngaoundéré rural health district.
