Summary of Activities:

Activities with patients:

Each year on the second Monday of February , the day of awareness against the fight of epilepsy is celebrated. The activity is organized by the Honduran Society of Epilepsy, with the support of UNAH medical students.

February, 2019:

Celebration of Epilepsy Awareness Day on February 11th, 2019, in National Hospital Mario Catarino Rivas, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Similar activities were made in Tegucigalpa.

Educational activities:

• June 1st, 2019: In the first meeting, we had the participation of Professors Dr. Franz Chaves-Sell (ALADE President), Dr. Marco Tulio Medina (ALADE Past-President), Dr. Selvin Reyes (ILAE-YES representative) and Dr. Rafael Aguilar-Estrada (Neurosurgeon, Past ALADE Fellow). In this activity, we had the participation of 90 medicine doctors from different parts of Honduras. The topics of the course were epileptogenesis, epilepsy epidemiology, semiology of different syndromes, epilepsy surgery and medical treatment of epilepsy.
• July 10th, 2019: We organized an Epilepsy meeting in the National Medical Congress 2019. In that activity, we had the participation of 60 members (mostly general practicioners, pediatricians and internal medicine doctors). The topics of the meeting were epileptogenesis, neurologic examination in epilepsy, imaging protocols, epilepsy surgery and treatment.
