• ILAE/IEL expert day September 2018 with guest speakers Prof. Andrea Rossetti and Prof. Orrin Devinsky
• Promotion of membership of IEL- currently 87 active members
• Epilepsy Nurses study day May 2018
• Neurology SpR training day June 22nd 2018
• Quarterly council meetings
• Participating in UK chapter meeting [Dr Daniel Costello]
• Annual Kirker prize for Epilepsy-orientated research in Ireland, presented at Irish Neurological Association meeting May 2018
• Regular promotion of ILAE-endorsed educational activities among IEL members

Challenges:

Establishment of charity status for Irish chapter

Establishment of secure funding stream for annual meeting

Future Plans:

• Annual Expert day Nov 15th 2019
• Neurology SpR training day June 2019
• Participation in Epilepsy Nurses training day May 2019
• Participation in IBE chapter ('Epilepsy Ireland') conference Sept 2019
• 2019 Kirker lecture as plenary lecture during IEL annual meeting
• 2019 Kirker prize for Epilepsy-orientated research to be presented at 2019 annual meeting of Irish Neurological Association
• Establishment of 2 travel bursaries to promote Irish epilepsy-orientated research
