13 Feb 2017 - International Epilepsy Day –– we posted on facebook and on SRIE site – two messages – do you know what to do in a seizure (link) and Do you know what epilepsy is?

26 March 2017 - Purple Day Supportig Epilepsy Around the World

• Several public buildings in Bucharest were lighted in purple (Romanian Atheneum, Fountains from the City Center, Parlament Palace)
• Purple bicycle tour for epilepsy’, city center of Bucharest for awareness of epilepsy was organized together with the Dravet Association, Romanian Foundation for Neurology and Epileptology, Scientific Students Association and Cyclism Association Bucharest (Pediatric Neurologists and Neurologists with interest in epilepsy, patients and their families, press persons, students and a cyclism association participated);
• Salsa event for awareness of Epilepsy - common action with ‚Dravet and other rare epilepsies association’

• 17 Nov. 2017. Course: Investigating resistant epilepsy (invited speakers: Kees Braun, Dragoslav Sokic, Aleksandar Ristic, Petia Dimova, Lorella Minotti, Philippe Kahane, Stefano Francione, Carmen Barba)
• 17-18 Nov 2017: U-Task Meeting was held in Bucharest

18 Nov 2017: Scientific Meeting SRIE-Dravet Association.
Parents and doctors met and discussed different issues as the Emergency protocol and personalized Letter, Dravet practice protocol, Vaccination in Dravet Syndrome

• 11-13 iulie 2018- Summer School Sucevita- A practical course for Epilepsy: invited speakers (Nebosja Jovic, Luca de Palma, Trevisano Marina, Petr Marusic).
• 4-6 Oct 2018 The XXVIth Annual SRIE Conference – Cluj-Napoca
• 4 Oct Course Basic EEG Preconference course Epilepsy hands on) - invited speaker Dr Walter van Emde Boas. This course was organized for nurses working in the EEG field. Although the initial target was to train 50 nurses, around 110 poped up and stayied for the whole duration of the course. Practical work on manikins and on EEG machines followed the theoretical presentations.
• 4 Oct Course New Classification of Epilepsies – invited speaker Dr Walter Van Emde Boas. We discussed the new 2017 classification of seizures and of epilepsies based on clinical cases, in an interactive manner
• 5-6 Oct SRIE The XXVIth Annual SRIE Conference. YES Romania (Young epilepsy section) was created with the occasion of this Conference.
• Also the nurses organized themselves in what it is called SAM-RO (Nurses section of SRIE) aiming further training and specialization concerning epilepsy and EEG .

Future Plans:

• Transition meeting 7 Feb 2019. This is a very important meeting for Romania, which is at the beginning of UE leadership; we try to take action in one of the “hot” issues in health today – how to organize transition from children to addults and to create a model to be adopted by people working in Eastern Europe with the help of the leaders in epilepsy. Leaders from Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Republic Of Moldova and Romania will participate in order to identify the main problems related to transition. The ILAE-Europe Presitent, Eugen Trinka; Hellen Cross, member of the Executive Committee of The ILAE, are two of the participant who will guide a Transition Protocol development for epilepsy patients
• 26 March 2019 - militate for purple illumination of public buildings in Bucharest
• 26 March 2019 - common action with Dravet and other rare epilepsies association - Raising awareness on epilepsy
• 26 March 2019 - commom action with Cyclists association - Bucharest Marsh on bicycle for epilepsy day
• Finalise Syllabus for EEG technicians and obtain recognition from the Ministry of Health, Romania
• SRIE Summer school in Association SRIE- ASNER (Neurophysiology association) will join the organization of the 5th East European Course of Epilepsy in Sucevita, Romania. The main themes: Investigations in Epilepsy ; Treatment in epilepsy – 10-13 July 2019 http://ilae-romania.ro/scoala_vara_2019-2/

• Renew and reprint – Informative booklet for patients with epilepsy
• Extend cooperation with neighbour countries from Eastern and Center Europe for exchange and development
