The Swiss League Against Epilepsy was founded in1931 and has been a Chapter of the ILAE since 1964. The chapter researches, helps and informs. Its goal is to sustainably improve the daily lives and standing in society of those affected by epilepsy.

News

Awards go to three Swiss research projects

Epilepsy researchers in Bern, Geneva and Zurich are receiving recognition and financial support for their work. This year's Epilepsy League Research Recognition Award is shared between two projects, while the Alfred Hauptmann Award from all three German-speaking epilepsy associations also goes to Swiss recipients.

  • Annual Research Recognition Award of CHF 25,000
  • Annual professional meetings in English
  • Professional newsletter in English
  • Help and information by telephone, email or personal contact
  • Educational events for neurologists and other experts from relevant disciplines held in a different Swiss town each time in German, French and Italian (events accumulate credits from the Swiss Neurological Society and others)
  • Alfred Hauptmann award of CHF 10,000 every two years, together with the German and the Austrian chapters of the International League Against Epilepsy
  • Leaflets with information about epilepsy in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and Albanian
  • Public events regarding epilepsy treatment and life with epilepsy held in a different Swiss town each time in German, French and Italian
