Chapter Spotlight: Switzerland
The Swiss League Against Epilepsy was founded in1931 and has been a Chapter of the ILAE since 1964. The chapter researches, helps and informs. Its goal is to sustainably improve the daily lives and standing in society of those affected by epilepsy.

Epilepsy League: Lukas Imbach is the new President
June 2024
Lukas Imbach has been elected President of the Swiss League Against Epilepsy. Thanks to several new members joining, there are now more women than men on the board.
Epilepsy Research Award: Smarter EEGs

This year’s Research Recognition Award from the Swiss League Against Epilepsy goes to two projects from Geneva and Zurich, both of which are focussing on brain wave measurement. If successful, they could not only improve diagnoses but also treatment options.
Awards go to three Swiss research projects

Epilepsy researchers in Bern, Geneva and Zurich are receiving recognition and financial support for their work. This year's Epilepsy League Research Recognition Award is shared between two projects, while the Alfred Hauptmann Award from all three German-speaking epilepsy associations also goes to Swiss recipients.

- Alfred Hauptmann award of CHF 10,000 every two years, together with the German and the Austrian chapters of the International League Against Epilepsy
- Leaflets with information about epilepsy in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and Albanian
- Public events regarding epilepsy treatment and life with epilepsy held in a different Swiss town each time in German, French and Italian
