European Epileptology Award 2026

Torbjörn Tomson obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where he later became Professor of Neurology at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience. He has also served as Senior Consultant and Head of the Epilepsy Section at the Department of Neurology, Karolinska University Hospital. His research has focused on pharmacotherapy, epidemiology, and in particular issues related to pregnancy. His main contributions include research on sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) and pregnancy outcomes in relation to maternal use of different antiseizure medications.
