For now, please contact the Congress Secretariat at iec@epilepsycongress.org for information on the congress.
RAI Amsterdam is the largest and most versatile exhibition and convention centre in the Netherlands.
Address: Europaplein 24, 1078 GZ Amsterdam, Netherlands
The official language of the congress is English.
Check here if you need a visa for the Netherlands – Do I need a visa?
Even if you do not need a visa, you must still meet certain conditions to visit the Netherlands.
Visa Information
The Netherlands is part of the Schengen Area, allowing holders of a valid Schengen visa to travel within the Netherlands and other Schengen countries during the visa's validity period.
Many delegates, including those from EU countries and other visa-exempt nations, do not require a visa for short stays. Delegates who do require a visa should apply for a Schengen Short-Stay Visa (Type C) as early as possible, as processing times may vary depending on nationality and local consular capacity.
To support your application, the Congress Secretariat can provide an official invitation letter upon registration and payment.
Please note that an invitation letter does not guarantee visa approval. Invitation letters must be requested during the completion of the registration form, at which time a copy of your passport should also be uploaded. The letter will be issued only once your registration is fully confirmed (including the payment)
When applying for a visa, delegates may be required to provide:
- A valid passport
- Travel and health insurance
- Proof of accommodation
- Proof of sufficient financial means
- An official congress invitation letter
Travellers from visa-exempt countries should also be aware of the upcoming European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), which is expected to be introduced before 2027. ETIAS is not a visa but a simple online travel authorisation similar to the U.S. ESTA system. Once implemented, eligible travellers will need to obtain ETIAS approval before travelling to the Schengen Area.
We strongly recommend checking the latest visa and entry requirements applicable to your nationality before making travel arrangements and submitting your visa application several months in advance where possible.
For visa-related questions or to request an invitation letter, please contact the Congress Secretariat.
EES
Are you travelling to the Netherlands or another Schengen country but not a resident of the EU? As of 12 October 2025, all Schengen countries will be using the new digital entry/exit system (EES). This system will be introduced in phases and will ultimately largely replace passport stamps.
