Created Just for You: The ILAE Epilepsy Nursing Curriculum
22 April 2026, 12:00 - 13:00 Coordinated Universal Time
08:00 - 09:00 EDT / 12:00-13:00 UTC / 13:00 - 14:00 BST
To strengthen nurses’ capabilities in caring for people with epilepsy global, the Nursing Section of ILAE has developed a competency-based curriculum. A tiered approach offers a core level for all nurses while a proficient level is for nurses who care for people with epilepsy regularly. A needs assessment of nurses in 2022 informed the Section that the lack of education and training in epilepsy was their largest barrier in caring for people with epilepsy. This curriculum can be used to address specific gaps and enhance the care of people with epilepsy worldwide. This webinar describes the development and components of the curriculum. Panelists will share how it can be implemented and tailored to different areas of the world and practice settings.
Objectives:
- Inform nurses of the 2026 ILAE global nursing competencies and their role in curriculum development.
