XVIII Workshop on Neurobiology of Epilepsy (WONOEP 2025)

The resilient brain

Cascais, Portugal

25 - 29 August 2025

WONOEP is a satellite event of the 36th International Epilepsy Congress and will take place a short distance from Lisbon. This WONOEP will focus on how the brain resists and adapts to epilepsy. What prevents seizures from happening more often? What processes act against epileptogenesis? How do our genomes confer resilience? Which genes switch on/off to help repair, adapt and endure? How do cells and networks change within local and distant brain regions and what is the role of neuro- and gliogenesis, neuroprotection, and resident and non-resident inflammatory and immune responses? What are the therapeutic and diagnostic applications of this knowledge?

One is invited to attend WONOEP based on abstract submission. Abstract submissions for WONOEP are now closed.
