Young Epilepsy Section (YES)

The Young Epilepsy Section (YES) of the ILAE is a worldwide organisation of young people who are in the early stages of a career focused on the care of people with epilepsy, and/or epilepsy research.

Our overarching purposes are to:

  1. Improve the professional development of young people working with epilepsy across the globe; and
  2. Equitably expand the involvement of junior women and men from all regions and disciplines across the ILAE.

This mission creates a new generation of epilepsy experts poised to discover and deliver state-of-the-art care to people with epilepsy well into the future. In this way, we underpin the ILAE’s vision of a world where no person's life is limited by epilepsy.

Our grassroots group is open to ILAE chapters members and individual international affiliates who are less than 40 years old or still in training, and encompasses diverse professionals such as physicians, basic scientists, nurses, (neuro)psychologists, clinical researchers, genetic counsellors, pharmacologists, physicists, dieticians, mathematicians, social workers, and other health and community professionals. Students training in fields relevant to epilepsy are also welcome.
